Pedestrians Struck after Crash in Beverly Hills

A pedestrian was killed and another bystander sustained major injuries after being struck by a vehicle involved in a crash in Beverly Hills this past Sunday. According to the local police department, the accident occurred at the intersection of Wilshire Boulevard and Bedford Drive around 5:00 p.m.

According to Beverly Hills Police Lt. Renato Moreno, the crash involved two SUVs. The force of the impact sent one of the involved vehicles careening into pedestrians standing at a nearby corner. No details regarding what caused the initial collision were released. Both pedestrians were transported to a local hospital for treatment of critical injuries. One of the victims succumbed to her injuries.

An investigation is still ongoing in order to determine all the factors that were involved in the fatal accident. It is unclear at this time if either of the drivers involved sustained any injuries. The identities of the pedestrians and the drivers were not disclosed. According to the authorities, Wilshire Boulevard was closed in both directions between Roxbury and Peck drives.
