Six people were injured after a wrong-way crash with a suspected drunk driver in the city of Northridge on Tuesday. According to a spokesperson for the Los Angeles Police Department’ Valley Traffic Division, the accident occurred April 4th around 11:50 p.m. at the intersection of Nordhoff Street and Zelzah Avenue. The identities of everyone involved have not been released.

Very few details regarding how the collision occurred were immediately available. Authorities stated that one of the motorists suffered multiple broken bones in the crash and was rushed to Holy Cross Hospital in critical condition. The extent of the injuries of the other five victims has not been disclosed.

An investigation is still ongoing in order to determine all the factors that were involved in the crash. A 20-year-old man was taken into custody for allegedly being under the influence. According to a witness, that 20-year-old ran a red light, sideswiped a vehicle, and then collided head-on with another car. The intersection was closed for several hours and remained closed Wednesday morning as the investigation continued and crews worked to remove the heavily damaged vehicles from the scene.
