Los Angeles Defective Product Lawyer News: Strollers Recalled For Strangulation Hazard

BOB Trailers Inc. recently announced that it is recalling hundreds of thousands of single and double jogging strollers in the United States and Canada because of a strangulation hazard.

According to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, these defective products were sold between April 2002 and February 2011 at REI, buy buy Baby, and other stores as well as online at Babiesrus.com, Target.com, and Amazon.com.

The company is recalling about 337,000 in the United States and 20,000 in Canada. All of the recalled strollers have a yellow-orange drawstring at the rear of the canopy. The commission received one report of an 11-month-old girl who got entangled at her neck by the stroller’s drawstring. Fortunately, the girl’s mother freed her.

The CPSC says people should immediately stop using the recalled strollers and remove the drawstring. If you are using a separately purchased Weather Shield or Sun Shield accessory, you should contact BOB Trailers for a free canopy retrofit kit at (855) 242-2245 between 8:30 a.m. and 5 p.m. MT Monday through Friday, or visit the firm’s website at bobcanopy.com.
