Lindsay Lohan Car Accident Update: Her Brakes Did Not Fail
As we reported, earlier this month, actress Lindsay Lohan was involved in a car accident near Santa Monica, California, while reportedly driving a rented Porsche.
Lohan reportedly rear-ended a truck in the car crash, causing massive damage to the $80,000 Porsche. Lohan has since claimed that the Porsche had faulty brakes.
However, TMZ.com now reports thatLohan’s brakes couldn’t have failed last month, because sources tell TMZ.com that the Porsche company itself tested the auto after the car crash and the brakes passed with flying colors.
Lohan reportedly told friends that she slammed on the brakes when the truck allegedly cut her off, nothing happened, and she crashed into the truck.
Porsche was told about Lohan’s excuse and contacted the company that rented Lohan the vehicle, asking if it could formally test the car.
According to sources, the rental company obliged the request and the Porsche company ran its tests, finding the brakes that had been installed on the car were great and showed no evidence of malfunction, which calls into question Lohan’s “faulty brakes” excuse.
A rep for the Santa Monica PD had no comment. A rep for Porsche also had no comment, but did say they’re cooperating with authorities. Calls to Lohan from TMZ.com were not returned.
If this is true, then the driver of the truck that Lohan hit in this car accident would be wise to contact a Los Angeles car accident lawyer to seek compensation for any physical injuries and damages to the truck. Under California law, this truck driver is legally entitled car accident compensation.
As this car accident proves, even celebrities can end up in car crashes with normal people. This stresses the need for car accident victims to contact Los Angeles car accident attorneys, whether they are hit by a celeb or just an average driver.
