Soulja Boy, an Atlanta producer/rapper, was involved in a car accident on June 23, after he allegedly crossed the double lines and smashed his Bentley into a Chevy, being driven by a pregnant woman, Bobbiye Sullinger.
Soulja Boy initially denied that he was behind the wheel, but eventually admitted to driving the Bentley that was involved in the incident with Bobbiye Sullinger and Herman Flowers.
Sullinger and Flowers recently filed a lawsuit against Soulja Boy for medical expenses, emotional distress, physical distress and now, have added defamation of character charges against Soulja Boy over a video he posted on YouTube claiming Sullinger and Flowers were lying. Their lawsuit claims that Soulja Boy’s accusations of racism in the video has severely damaged Sullinger’s career and reputation.
21-year-old rapper Ervin McKinness did not survive his vehicle collision. McKinness was on his cell phone prior to the fatal car crash that killed him and four of his friends over Labor Day weekend in Ontario, Calif.
His 2005 Nissan Sentra, ran a red light and crashed into a wall, reports the San Bernardino County Sun. Just minutes before the fatal car accident at 1:19 a.m. on Sept. 2, McKinness posted a tweet to his account @ink2flashyy that is now filled with cruel irony: Drunk af going 120 drifting corners #FuckIt YOLO. At 1:20 a.m., McKinness did one last tweet: “Driving tweeting sipping the cup f— yolo I’m turning it up.”
YOLO stands for “You Only Live Once,” and was first popularized by Drake in his song ‘The Motto.’
The Ontario police say that it was McKinness’ friend Jonathan Watson, 21, was actually the driver, reports HuffingtonPost.com. Police say it is still too early to say whether the crash was a result of drunken driving.
If this latest report is true, then McKinness’ family would be well-served to contact a wrongful death lawyer about their loss.
